Joseph Dantonello, teacher at the Augsburg Municipal Conservatory (born 6 April 1891 in Oettingen, victim of the terrorist attack on Augsburg in the Third Reich on 15 January 1945), was initially a primary school teacher by profession. From 1925, he was choirmaster in Hirblingen and at St Peter and Paul in Augsburg-Oberhausen. He also directed the Augsburg-Oberhausen Singers’ Association, the Augsburg Singing School branch in Oberhausen and the classes for choral and opera choral singing at the Municipal Conservatory. In addition to his work as a music teacher, singing teacher, choirmaster, conductor, organist and music editor, he has also composed numerous works of sacred and profane choral music.
