Engelbert Wörndle, born on 18 January 1969 in Innsbruck and resident in Grinzens, has been working at the music school since 1998.
He trained as a trombone teacher at the Tyrolean State Conservatory under Prof Mato Santek. He currently teaches trombone and tenor horn at the Imst, Westliches Mittelgebirge and Stubai music schools.
As a tenor horn player and trombonist, he was a member of the Militärmusik Tirol for 12 years and held the position of bandmaster of the Musikkapelle Sistrans for 15 years. In 2019, he took over as conductor of the Bundesmusikkapelle Grinzens. Enthusiastic about Bohemian and Moravian band music, Wörndle founded the Karwenka music band in 1992 together with other fellow musicians, which he led as conductor for 13 years. For 20 years he was a member of “Die Innsbrucker Böhmische” and toured Europe with this top ensemble, which became a model for all „7-piece ensembles“. As a founder and member of the Tanzlmusikgruppe (dance music group) “De vom Berg”, he accompanied their first CD recording in 2020.
Engelbert Wörndle is also in demand throughout the German-speaking world as a professional band music coach and experienced recording director for various CD recordings (including Südtiroler Gaudimusikanten, Brixner Böhmische, Blaskapelle Alpenwind).
He has made a name for himself as a composer and arranger for various kind of music ensembles. In addition to countless commissioned works, around 200 compositions and arrangements have been published by the music publishers TMV, TSS, Berton and Klarus (all part of Tyrolis Music) and Novas.
Since 2023, publications by Engelbert “Engl” Wörndle have also been released by the South Tyrolean music publisher MUNODI Edition.
