Martini in Bologna with Gilberto Monetti as well as musicology/DAMS in Vienna and Bologna. In addition to his teaching activities at the music schools of Überetsch, Ritten and Sarntal, he has performed with many different ensembles, including the zither player Reinhilde Gamper, the “Time 4 Sax” quartet, Symphonic Winds, the “Pleite Band”, the brass ensemble “Eggental Brass” and with the trendiest DJs as “Rupi on the Sax”.
Hechensteiner wrote songs for the Kühne Überetscher Bühne and the Chorverein St. Pauls, the music for the musical “Riesen-Spaß auf Pitschefört”, a “Fantasie für Altsaxophon und Orgel”, “Le sacre du vin” for the Kellerei St. Pauls for its centenary and “Sobrass”, a piece for soprano saxophone and brass ensemble (arranged by Hans Finatzer in 2017 for soprano saxophone and the Musikkapelle St. Pauls). For Symphonic Winds he wrote “Primas” (in collaboration with Ivan Marini), his first major work for wind orchestra, in 2017.
His saxophone quintets “Easy Driving” and “Luna Libre” have been published by Schott-advance music Verlag, his saxophone septet “Irish Perpetuum” by Deine Blasmusik Verlag and the work “Primas” by Ruh Verlag. With the South Tyrolean music publisher MUNODI Edition he found a competent local partner for the publication of his further works.
