Fabian Gasser (*21.06.1994) comes from a family in Bolzano where music and theatre have always played a major role. At the age of eight he was already taking trombone lessons with Paul Bozzetta at the IME (Institut für Musikerziehung des Landes Südtirol – Institute for Music Education of the Province of South Tyrol). His following studies brought him to the music conservatory “Claudio Monteverdi” in Bolzano, where he continued his education with Hansjörg Profanter and Andrea Maccagnan. In 2021, he completed the first-level degree programme in trombone.
Another important milestone in his musical career was the completion of the three-year course in Wind Band Conducting with Christian Laimer, also in 2021, which gave him the tools to lead various youth orchestras and bands.
He has been a member of the Musikkapelle Frangart since 2007 and a member of the Merano Pop Symphony Orchestra since 2021.
At an early age, he began orchestrating pieces of music for a trombone quartet, which he founded in his youth with three friends. Later he arranged works for smaller brass groups for various performances in church. In the course of his training as a bandmaster, arrangements of ever larger works followed.
In the meantime Fabian also orchestrates extensive orchestral works for wind orchestra. His goal is to enrich the brass music literature and especially to make works from the Romantic period, whose epoch and music fascinate him so much, playable for the bands.
