Kurt Dirler, born on 14 March 1983 in Merano, received his education as a percussionist at the Lana music school with Michael Matzoll. He joined the Prissiano music band at the age of 13 and soon attracted attention as a sensitive musician.
In the former Egerländer formation “Die Prissianer Dorfmusikanten” he was on top form with polkas, marches and waltzes. Fascinated by the everlasting melodies of the great composers of Bohemian music, he soon set to work himself and made his first attempts at composition.
After the dissolution of the “Dorfmusikanten”, nothing stood in the way of him founding his own small 7-man band “Kurt und bündig”. He has already written numerous pieces for this band, all of which bear his unmistakable signature and have been published by MUNODI Edition.
