Heimatfreude
The polka HEIMATFREUDE is a musical homage to Jenesien, the composer’s home, and the picturesque beauty of the Salten, the largest larch meadow in Europe. Especially in autumn, the low sunrays wrap the golden-yellow larches in a magical light. The bright blue sky, the view sweeps over the gently undulating landscape of the high plateau, the Dolomites rise in the distance.
The warm-hearted atmosphere of this unique region unfolds in gentle brass sounds, which initially sound in the empathetic duet of flugelhorn and tenor horn. When the melody is repeated, the tuba joins in and brings a deeper, harmonious dimension to the melody. Similar to the crack of a whip, the composer wakes us from our dreaminess with a cymbal solo, skilfully leading from the melody of the wind instruments into a snappy polka tempo.
Let yourself be carried away by the enchanting sounds and experience the cosiness and joie de vivre of the people in Jenesien, in South Tyrol – a musical celebration of the homeland!
