The march “In Reihen vor” is a very old East Tyrolean traditional march. It is also played at the Matrei Wreath Days in June of each year. The unknown composer has succeeded in creating a true musical jewel with this piece. Especially in the trio, the march captivates with a cleverly composed melody that is first heard in the clarinet and tenor registers (partly in two voices) before it is taken over by the soprano instruments after impressive harmonic turns. Woven through a cleverly constructed upward melody in the high brass and a downward countermelody in the tenor register, the march reaches its high point in a grandioso composed with purposeful use of dynamics. This grandiose street march was rearranged by Pavel Franc exclusively for MUNODI Edition, so that it may find its way into many marching books and inspire spectators and musicians alike.
