“Mit Schwung durchs Etschtal” is a rousing polka by Kurt Dirler, which is presented by the Südtiroler Gaudimusikanten on their CD “Im Weinkeller” (Tyrolis).
This cheerful composition takes musicians and listeners on a musical journey through the picturesque South Tyrolean Adige Valley with lively melodies and a rousing rhythm. In the intermediate section, the skilful use of trumpet fanfares traces medieval life in the castles that proudly watch over the valley.
Dirler crowns the work with the trio: he skilfully manages to fuse the Oberkrainer and Egerländer styles and ignite a firework display of brass music!
