The work, ideally suited as a marching march and easily playable from lower to intermediate level, contains after a fanfare-like beginning both alpine motifs and a beautifully lyrical two-part trio melody in the tenor and baritone registers. The unconventional, almost winking, youthful touch of the composition nevertheless does not remain hidden to the attentive listener.
